Baking Brownies

Not from scratch unfortunately. I am a still a newbie baker although I have to say, I do make a pretty mean apple pie from scratch, crumbly crusts and all, thanks to my SIL Lorr's expertise! I had to learn it because Dear Hubby just loves pies! But if you ask me, my favorite baked goodie is a moist and chewy brownie. I love brownies more than cookies and cupcakes, so thank goodness for my friend Paz's discovery!

Today, I was so bored but I was not in the mood to go out. Knowing myself, window shopping and boredom can be, erase that, IS a dangerous combination. So no can do there. Instead, I decided to whip up a batch of brownies to kill time...

I enlisted the help of dear Commander Robot, the same little fella who accompanied Dear Hubby while he was away at graduate school...

Who watched over the brownies to make sure I didn't overbake them, and patiently waited while the brownies cooled...

Commander Robot and I had one brownie each, which we downed with a glass of milk. Yum!...(Ok fine, I confess, I ate his share, he was on a diet...)

Thank goodness for life's little pleasures! It made me forget, at least for an hour, these Balenciaga-esque sandals from Nine West. At $89, it's a pretty good deal vs. the originals that had me at hello when I first saw them at Barneys! But! The rational me says I don't need another pair of shoes. Grrr!

I think the Betty Crocker mix are better and using to use EVcoconut oil makes it tastier.

Hi Anon! Yup! The brownies were good! More cake-y than dense, but still pretty good! =)

Coconut oil? I never thought of that! I should try that soon! With the Betty Crocker mix! Thanks Joyscribe! =)
