Style SOS: Carrie Underwood's Dress

I was wondering if you might know who designed this dress? It's white with baloon sleeves and sequined. I hope the picture is okay. Your blog is awesome and you know quite a lot about fashion so I was hoping you might know :)

Thank you so much for any help.

Happy Holidays!

- Amanda

Can any body help us in identifying the dress worn by Carrie Underwood in her Holiday Special? Pretty please?

My 2010 Wishlist

I didn't really have a Christmas wish list because it was overwhelming to want all these things in one go. I would rather gradually acquire my want list over a course of time, within the year 2010!

Short of asking for Jenna Lyons's closet (more of a huge room actually)...

I would like to work towards adding these to my library/closet/home...

Chances are, this is first thing I'm getting because it's the most affordable! Haha! The Overnight Socialite by Harvard educated author Bridie Clarke.

A dress form from Wolf Form Co. or Fox Model Forms (Belle & Melissa, these cost about $600-$700 dollars for a basic model, Wolf in particular is widely used by design students and established designers like Narciso Rodriguez!)

Black brogues from Church's, although Dear Hubby says I should go for something more feminine.

A lacquered side table and a rustic bench from Pottery Barn, because I am obsessed with fixing up our apartment now that I spend so much time at home. On a whim, I decided to organize our bathroom using Sedona baskets and glass canisters from Crate & Barrel and I was super pleased at how more streamlined our bath looks now with just a few tweaks. Now I can't wait to do little projects one room at a time.

A traditional wool carpet from ABC Carpet & Home. It's an heirloom piece that will add much warmth and color to our living room. Couldn't decide yet if I should go light or dark. Although right now, I'm leaning towards the lighter one...

So far, this is it for now. I'm keeping this list short and sweet! And doable!

Loco for Incoco

So here's the thing. I haven't had my nails done since my wedding in 2008. Ever! First, because I'm not willing to shell out more than $10 for a manicure. Second, who has the time to go to a salon?! I know I don't. Not with Berry and chores and my growing to do list.

My SIL Lorr told me about Incoco some months back and when we saw a stall selling these stick-ons, my other SIL Les decided to give it a try. Not only did the Incoco girl make it look so easy to apply, it looked pretty good too! We were very impressed! Enough for Les to get three different colors. Of course, we asked for samples to try at home as well!

Here's how the sample stickies looked like...

But we got enough of the French Tip stick-ons for all fingers! When we got home, we decided to try it on me first. Its pretty much a no brainer to use - apply the white tip (you can adjust the thickness to your liking) first by pressing it down the nail, pulling it out to stretch a bit, pushing it down, tearing off the excess, and filing it.

Then place the clear polish on the whole nail, press, pull, push and file!

Midway into it, we just had to marvel at how easy this was! Even Berry liked it! She placed her hand on top of mine, maybe to imagine how french tips would look on her! Haha!

Here's the finished product. Not bad for french tips we did at home, and in less than 10 minutes too!

These should last for 10-15 days. It's almost 7 days now and there's no a chip in my polish. Pretty tough! I especially love how my nails look nice despite my hectic lifestyle. I think I'm going to stock up on these from now on! Oh, and you must try the chrome versions! Pretty much the DIY version of Minx nails! A whole lot cheaper too! We were thinking this would be the best thing to do when you're bored!

Btw, because these are made from real nail polish, when it's time to be removed, you can do so with any nail polish remover!

Where to buy:
- Incoco Online Store
- Walgreens
- Incoco Nail Bars (NJ only)
- Incoco is available in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand & all over Europe. In Asia, Incoco is available in Hong Kong, Singapore & South Korea

Scenes From A Moving Car

Because Berry and I pretty much stay indoors, we take advantage of every opportunity to go out for a drive with Dada. One time, he had to bring his friend to his hotel in Midtown East and Berry and I begged to go. I took some photos from inside the car along the way!

Fifth Avenue...

Towards Hell's Kitchen, the grittier part of Midtown...

Another time, we took my sister-in-law Les for a drive around, it was her first time in the city and didn't want to explore the neighborhoods by foot. This is along Broadway in SoHo. We passed this way...

to go to Chinatown so we could stock up on siopao from Mei Lai Wah...

These photos of The Naked Cowboy and Times Square aren't from inside the car, but taken by my sister-in-law Les and my friend Marcie...

So from what you've seen, do you still want to go to New York? Heehee!
