Get Alexa's Style! Again!

I've removed my MTV link on my links list since Alexa's show got canceled and hence, no more outfits shots. But thanks to Vogue.co.uk's feature on Alexa's daily outfits ("Today I'm Wearing...") this whole month of February, I found a new resource!

Consider this a how-to, because she shares exactly what she's wearing. This way, you know where to go to put a similar look together. I've lovingly collected all the photos as reference, which we all can go back to in one go! Enjoy!

Ok granted that she wears Chanel and Miu Miu, most of the stuff in her closet are accessible enough! Levi's, American Apparel, Topshop, Cos, Uniqlo, Madewell, with bits and pieces of APC, CdG, Isabel Marant, and of course Mulberry thrown in. What makes her look unique is that she shops in cult boutiques like Opening Ceremony and Oak, plus she wears Bimba & Lola, Margaret Howell and LK Bennett too - Spanish and British brands respectively and therefore, not too accessible to girls not based in Europe (although Bimba & Lola has stores in Singapore and Malaysia and Margaret Howell has a store in Japan). She incorporates a lot of vintage as well, and borrows from her boyfriend's closet. She's quite traditional in some ways, favoring classic brands like Barbour and Gloverall (read about that from wikstenmade). When it comes to eyewear, she goes for the classics too - Ray Ban and Moscot.

I guess it's the mix of vintage, classic and not so mainstream pieces that make her style so Alexa. Then again, if I had her skinny long legs, I'd look good in anything too! Hahaha!

LeSportsac Spring 2010

Berry's diaper bag is a messenger bag from Tokidoki x LeSportsac. We use it when we're out the whole day (our diaper bag for short trips out/running errands is from Rootote) because it fits everything she needs - diapers, baby wipes, changing pad, breastfeeding cover, extra clothes, bibs and towels, baby food, water bottle etc.

I love it because it is such a happy, cute and stylish diaper bag! And of course, it serves the purpose - fits everything, and is super sturdy and lightweight!

While I still love Tokidoki x LeSportsac, LeSportsac has moved on! For Spring 2010, LeSportsac's "Artist in Residence" is Swiss-Japanese Katharina Leuzinger. Raised in Zurich and educated in London, this designer and illustrator captures boldly colorful and intricately detailed magical worlds.

Her blend of playful fancy and organized structure evokes an instantaneous emotional response of pure happiness that organically allows her work to tell its own stories. The prints she created for LeSportsac are no exception. House Boat features a colorful world where octopuses rule, multiple rainbows abound, and whales beckon with smiles. At the same time, Snackville tells the story of mustached houses, bunny abodes, and a place where snack time and home are given their due.

The prints are available in nine new styles created exclusively for the Artist in Residence Collection.

Look Who Got Quoted in Racked NY

Ahhh! The power of Twitter! I just realized, it's so Pinoy of me to think of locations in terms of landmarks instead of gridlines the way true New Yorkers do. Hahaha!

Hey, since we are on the subject, follow me on Twitter!

Here's the actual post on Racked.

The September Issue Out on DVD Today!

Woohoo! Got mine from Amazon!

Can't wait to watch it again and again and again! The 2 disc set includes never before seen clips - 25 deleted scenes with over 90 minutes of video footage! You can also do a digital download via iTunes or order it On Demand.

For those who missed the movie screenings, this is your chance to get into Vogue's hallowed halls.

Such an insightful documentary, it is definitely a must see. I actually wrote about The September Issue for The Radar when it first showed. Read here.

Chambray Dress + Grandma's Secret Spot Remover

Liking this chambray drop-waist shirt dress from Old Navy. Spied it on the mannequin in the Old Navy commercial and immediately fell for the Isabel Marant vibe it was projecting. Sleeves can be rolled down too.

I can imagine wearing this with tights and boots during winter, and with sandals during the summer. A versatile piece for only $29.50! Gotta love Old Navy. While they are not exactly known for quality, and there are more bad pieces than good ones in store, when they've got something good, it's really really good. I probably have 20 pieces of Old Navy clothing in my closet, the cream of the crop I would think. All these pieces have been around for years now and till now are in pretty good shape. Then again, I treat all my clothes, regardless of price with the same love and care. Gentle cycle in the wash, Berry's Dreft liquid detergent and I spot treat stains with Grandma's Secret Spot Remover.

I've tried using Clorox Bleach Pen and Tide To Go, but nothing beats Grandma's! I've removed a long horrific sign pen stain on Berry's pristine white blanket and it was gone just like that! I've tried it on blood stains too, all sorts of stains really. Amazing stuff I tell you!

You can buy it off Amazon, but for those in the Philippines, you can order through Shopspot, click HERE!

AK Anne Klein Spring 2010 Collection

I've always associated Anne Klein with classic staples, and their Spring Collection does not disappoint.

Ok, granted that I still think of Anne Klein as mommy clothes (oops, I am a mommy! But I mean my mom's age group, not mine hahaha), the khaki wrap dress with the full skirt (topmost) is just my kind of thing! Does that mean I'm turning into a matrona now? That, or their current crop of pieces are getting youthful!

The current collection offers a strong selection of basics ranging from sleeveless tops with ruffles, drape neck tops, classic twill pants and skirts, and button front jackets. Check it out!

In the Philippines, AK Anne Klein is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Rustan’s Makati, Power Plant Mall, Rustan’s Tower, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, & Greenbelt 5.

Nicole Miller S/S 2010

Should you need a pretty dress for a special occasion (or hey, why wait for a special occasion? Dress up if it makes you happy!), you might want to ditch the usual suspects and go for something from Nicole Miller - "a fashion designer with a modern, ageless aesthetic" who's signature style is feminine, sexy and refined.

Miller was dually trained at the Rhode Island School of Design and Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. Her fine arts background in painting and sculpture at RISD inspired a spirit of freedom and creativity while her training at Chambre Syndicale instilled a strong sense of aesthetics and a mastery of the classical techniques of couture.

Check out some pieces from her current collection, available in Rustan’s Makati and Rustan’s Shangrila:

Love the artfully laid out lace on the black dress and the zippers on the white dress! Sweet and sassy!

Care for a Clipa?

These remind me of those ring binder rings, but these are way better! Now, why didn't I think of this?

Clipa is a handbag hanger that marries form and function.

Instead of typical handbag hangers that just add to your bag clutter, it's stylish enough to be worn as a bracelet.

How Clipa Works:

* Place Clipa on handbag strap
* To use, place one end on table edge or other surface
* When finished, simply pull handbag strap and let Clipa fall back onto bag

Hangs:

* Handbags
* Backpacks
* Cases
* Purses
* Totes
* Book bags
* Diaper bags
* Umbrellas
* and more

Works On Most:

* Tabletops
* Chairs (arms and backs)
Good Morning America reports: bacteria on handbags
* Counters
* Stall walls
* Rails
* Sinks

Ideal For:

* Restaurants
* Bars
* Outdoor cafes
* Cubicles
* Sporting events
* Concerts
* Theaters
* Meetings
* Poolside
* Bathrooms (especially where a hook isn’t available such as an airplane restroom)

Care:

* No polishing is required

Options:

* Wear it as a bracelet or bangle
* Pull a scarf through it to dress up your bag (uhm, not really - MFO)

Retails for PHP 895-995 at Rustan's Makati, Shangri-La Plaza, Alabang Town Center and Gateway.
