And all the while I thought these were sold out!
I've wanted these Lanvins since Fall 2006 and hey, I don't mind being a whole year late! I can forget about the Loefflers no prob, since I really prefer flats over heels...
Now if only I can think of a way to justify the purchase of $860 boots! But nah, this is still way too much. I should just practice extreme self-control...
Think of the hungry...think of how many families this pair of boots can feed...think of those who can't even buy a decent pair of shoes...think of those who only have one pair of shoes...think of those who have no shoes at all...

Hahaha! Its virtues are endless right?! Now if only I can get rid of my Catholic school girl guilt...and the fear of explaining this purchase to my frugal family!!! =)
Haha Tin you remind me of Monica in Friends and her line goes..."They’re very practical. See, you can wear them with dresses, with skirts, with pants…"
re:frugal family
OMG, you can't believe how much i lie to my mom on how much my shoes, bags, clothes cost. sure, she likes nice things but inflation and well, the marketing of luxury products have ballooned the prices of these goods to incredible proportions. when she saw the chanel 2.55 i got last week in hong kong, i had to tell her that it was so and so lang..i gave a value only 1/5th of the real price!
i feel absurdly guilty about how materialistic i am since my parents didn't really bring me up to be one. LOL.
Cathy: Oh my, you're reading my mind! Exact thing going through my head! I haven't bought any boots yet even though my feet are freezing na! I'm saving myself for this one, the thought of settling is just so depressing! But I'm on waiting mode, let's see if the feeling will pass!
Anon: Hahaha! I can totally relate! It was actually my mom who instilled that "quality over quantity" mindset in me, but she'll freak out when she finds out how much "quality" costs these days! Hay! We've turned into such monsters no? Our families will find us scary if they only knew!
oops the anon was me!!!

Anon/Homaygess: I figured it was you Grace! Hehehe!
You do not ask whether a Lanvin is a justifiable purchase- you simply go on and say: "I must buy it!" haha
a Lanvin will definitely make you feel better even if it's last season's piece besides you can never have too much of shoes!
you don't know how surprised i was to see the post! i'm in love with these boots as well!! :D
but since it's too expensive and i haven't seen anything similar here in Manila, i'm thinking maybe i'll have it custom made with a trusty shoemaker :D
Well just think of it this way. You can buy almost 3 pairs of very nice ballet shoes :) Or you can get Brian Atwood, Sergio Rossi, Kors or Juicy Couture flat boots which will cost half the price and are also very nice :)
Gian: You are a bad influence! Hahaha! Although yeah, I know I'll be the happiest girl in the world when I eventually go home with these boots! I'm actually going to Barneys today to try it on and see if I'm really feeling it! Hopefully they still have it in my size, wala na sa website eh! Because I hesitated and got guilty with the thought of buying it! Wish me luck!
Shopaholic: Why don't you try Zara? I know that they are carrying flat boots now!
RE: "In love", yeah I know how you feel! I can't stop thinking about these boots when I saw that Barneys had this in my size on the website! I've been constantly checking on it and then suddenly there it was! All the while, I thought this was a lost cause and that this was totally sold out and ebay was my only hope. Thing was nobody was letting it go on ebay...
Cathy: Thanks for giving me perspective, yeah maybe I should consider other options so when it's totally gone, I won't feel so bad. Right now, I'm considering Isabel Marant or maybe the Loeffler Matildes, they're flat and cheaper too...will check out your recommendations as well! Let's see what I'll end up with! =)
