QUESTION: Why did the woman NOT cross the road?
ANSWER: Because there were anti-fur protesters on the other side...
It was quite odd to see this couple transfixed in that spot for a good five minutes or so. But since the lady was wearing a fur cape, I understood their dilemma. Right in front of the Escada boutique camped a group of anti-fur protesters.
I can just imagine their conversation:
MAN: Honey, I really need to go to Dunhill to get myself a new pair of gloves.
WOMAN: Do you mind going by yourself? I spy unfriendly forces on the other side.
MAN: We went all the way to New York to do our shopping and now you're telling me I have to go and pick stuff on my own?
WOMAN: But my safety is at stake here!

I hate PETA because of their pretentiousness and hypocrisy.
Honestly, it's not really a social responsibility thing- what they're doing. They're just there to sabotage fashionistas.
Seriously, PETA is a seasonal thing. Remember how Linda Evangelista used to be the poster girl of their "I'd rather be naked than wear fur" then a few years later she's starring in the ad campaigns of an American fur house.
Their methods are just not right. I despise them too much. Sorry for such strong and blatant attacks on PETA!
