Dee-lightful!

So okay, we find out that Tita Celine - my friend Cons' mom, was leaving for London for a short trip. The first thing that pops into our heads? "Hello French Soles!" We plot the details over a dessert of cupcakes -- I tell Cons the Chelsea address (Sloane Rangers territory - my photographic memory serves me well), the style (pirouette or low cut), the color (red patent), and our respective sizes ("Its French sizing, tell Tita to get it one size up!"). Cons gets it in one go. That's how quick we are, fast learners really.

Let me explain the urgency. See, I ended up with another black pair the last time, in kid leather. So I was dead set on red patent ones this time around. Well let me tell you! Those things sell like hotcakes! Tita Celine tells Cons that the red patent ballet flats aren't available in my size! Cons calls me in panic -- "Would you like it in beige?" she offers.

Honestly, it was a conflict of emotions when she broke the news. I was sad that the shoes remained so elusive. I was sort of glad that I get to save my money. But the general feeling was still "Boohoo!"
