The other day, I had a dream. In my dream, I discovered I was related to Anna Wintour. She was my aunt or something. I was surprised to discover that she was so nice and so down-to-earth! So grounded in fact, that she admitted that she was working as a shop girl in Rustans. Next thing I knew, she was helping me pick out clothes from the racks! Weird!
Anyway, the last couple of days have been quite interesting for me! I was at this SOHO showroom the other day, and I found out they were just getting ready for SS 2009! So exciting! Project Runway season 5 started as well and this season has an interesting bunch of characters! I'm betting my measuring tape on that former Marc Jacobs intern and a couple other designers whose names escape me now! Well, I'll get those names soon enough.
Apart from that, I took a two day course at FIT on planning and merchandising and it was so much fun! I really learned a lot, and well, realized how different the fashion biz here is from Manila! It's a totally different world, and a lot more complicated, but super interesting! There's so much to learn and discover, I've barely scratched the surface! I am super looking forward to more classes, I am so excited I just can't hide it! Hahaha!
On another note, well, I walked about forty blocks the other day, from FIT to Barneys because it was such a nice day out, I figured it would make for good exercise. And well, I thought I'd save my $2 and just set it aside for my shoe fund! Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman shoe sale time you know! And since weeks have passed since the start of sale season, we're talking serious markdowns here.
As expected, the Barneys shoe sale was crazy! But no shoving and pushing here, even if most of the shoes were on the floor. I so love Barneys because the women who shop there are just so sweet! A tall, blond, skinny girl of about 15 approached me and asked me where I got my linen dress (Randy Ortiz from Myth, thanks Ruby!) and she just looked so crestfallen when I told her it was from the Philippines! Hmmm, there is a market here for our local designers! But we have lots to learn before we can even ship to this market!
Anyway, I saw a pair of yummy red patent Roger Vivier buckle flats at 60% off at Bergdorfs (been on my wish list for so long, more so especially after Ines de la Fressange was photographed wearing a black pair!) and a couple of heeled Louboutins, Miu Mius and Pradas also at 60% off. But I just can't be bothered with heels now. So yeah, I guess you can say it's the Roger Viviers that are haunting me in my sleep!

sounds like a good dream, CD!
I wish I'd have a similar dream but replace Anna with Carine. haha
Oh no MFO, did you see the Vivier knock-offs in the shoe stores here? There were a bunch of them, a few of them on sale na I think cos Vivier's not too known naman here. Of course, there's nothing like getting the real thing!
I love shopping in Soho too. Which is the best area? I'm also in the look out for art and furniture as I will need to furnish my apartment soon. Any suggestions where to go in Soho. A site that I've discovered just recently is shopbop.com. I bought my Kate Spade shoes here at a steal. I love their clothes too.
wow! that's a good dream!
ohhh wow....I'm also loving vivier flats! On my wishlist too!
