Fall 2010 brings the return of Simple’s BIO.D collection, featuring outsoles and midsoles that are manufactured using EcoPure, an organic compound that eats away at the bonds holding rubber and plastic together. This allows the midsoles and outsoles of the styles, when exposed to the hot and humid conditions typical of landfills, to biodegrade in 20 years as opposed to the industry average of 1,000 years.
But as with all shoes from Simple, eco-friendly doesn't have to have a granola feel! Check out the latest kicks in store for both men and women!
The D-Kay, the original BIO.D sneaker for women, has eco-certified leather uppers and certified organic cotton laces.
Take On was inspired by their best-selling Satire sneaker but altered to incorporate a new lower, sleeker profile. The Take On is a partially-recycled shoe with uppers that are made of eco-certified leather uppers and certified organic cotton linings and an outsole made of recycled car tires and comes in black hi tops, white and grey sneakers. Here are styles for women:
Now, let's hear it for the boys...
I don't know about you, but I'm liking Take On's hi leather in black! Reminds me somehow of Lanvin sneakers. Maybe because they're both sneakers made of leather? Hmmm, yeah, guess that's about it! Price wise, sing with me! "Take...on...me...Take! On Me!"
Simple Shoes started in the Philippines in late 2008 and they are currently available at Rustan’s Department Stores and the R.O.X Outdoor Store at the Fort. Simple Shoes is the leading eco-friendly footwear brand in the country.
